Windows 10: Wireless Display Adapter v2 not connecting on Windows 11

My Microsoft Wireless Display Adapter v2 is not connecting to my television from my new Acer Laptop with Windows 11. However, I am able to connect it to my television from my old surface with Windows 10.Is the adapter compatible with Windows 11, or is it something else that I need to look into? I just want to know that it will work before I start troubleshooting. Thank you.

Microsoft Wireless Display Adapter v2 - Devices not connecting

Hi,

We are trying to use a Microsoft Wireless Display Adapter v2 so that we can cast our notebook to a screen.

We have plugged in the adapter to the TV and it is showing that it is ready to connect, but when we try to cast from the notebook it attempts to connect, even shows on the TV "username is trying to connect" but then nothing happens.

No connection is made, it returns back to the "home" screen and on the notebook it says that it failed to connect.

We have tried changing the notebooks Wi-Fi band to 2.4ghz and 5ghz, also tried reinstalling the Wi-Fi adapter but still it doesn't connect.

The strange thing is that it allows us to connect to the Wireless Display Adapter v2 with an Android device perfectly, just not the notebook which is running Windows 10 and is fully up to date.

Does anyone have any suggestions on what we could try?

Yes that is correct, the Android can connect but the laptop cannot connect.

Yes they are also both using the same Wi-Fi, but the Wireless Display Adapter does not connect to the Wi-Fi as it gives us no option.

We have also tested the Display Adapter with a different screen and it had the same results.
