Wireless Display app disconnects whenever I minimize it.

I'm using Windows 11 and Wireless Display app. It works fine when I have to connect it to Android phone. Only issue is, when I minimize this app, it disconnects. Is it expected behavior or some settings can keep it alive?

Is there a way to prevent Wireless Display from disconnecting while its window is minimized?

Hi guys, how are you? So, I recently bought a new monitor and I have a notebook from work to use, but I've always used Remote Desktop View to use the device, but since there are some limited scenarios that I can't execute while remoting, I found an alternative that was to use Wireless Display to project the screen for my personal PC. The problem is, I can only use if the Windows Firewall is disable (and yes, I tried to create rules for the app, but it didn't work, any help I appreciate) and if I minimize the Wireless Display app (to use my main PC), in few seconds the display is disconnected. So, the question is: can I keep Wireless Display running in the background without disconnecting? If yes, how can I do that? Thanks for your attention.

    Wireless display adapters keep disconnecting

    Hi Luke,

It's possible that the devices aren't fully compatible, causing the disconnection. We'd like to learn more about your concern so that we could provide the proper resolution. We just have a few questions for you:

    • Just to confirm, are you using a Microsoft Wireless Display Adapter, or is it a third-party device?
    • Did you make any changes to the computers before this started happening?
    • Which build version of Windows 10 are using on your computers? To check, click
Start, type winver, and press Enter. For example, 14393.1066.
    • Does it get disconnected when using a particular program?
    • Did you receive any error messages? If yes, please post a screenshot.
    • Since you mentioned you've done some troubleshooting steps, can you list them all so that we could move on to the next ones?
