Wireless display option missing, can't cast to TV

Lenovo laptop, Win 11 installed, AMD Radeon Graphics.

I have updated drivers. No problems with wi-fi. No display found when casting to wireless TV. Tried to add display. Win 11 won't add.

Has worked in the past. Computer will detect display after I reboot laptop, turn off TV, unplug Router, replug router, turn on TV.

When I turn off TV, and try to cast again later, the *&%# , under Available displays, tells me "No displays are available."

I have updated display adapter and its drivers. I've asked win to add a display (bluetooth & devices, add device, wireless displays etc., add device, win shows nothing). TV does appear under audio, but says "not connected," with no other option except remove device.

Under cmd with admin:I did the following Chkdsk C: /f

DISM.exe /Online /Cleanup-image /Checkhealth (and Scanhealth), everything OK. Ran SFC /scannow. Can't think what else to do. Is it Lenovo, AMD, or Win 11 issue--or is it me?

  3. Cannot "Cast" to a wireless display (TV)

Although I can find my (Sony 90J) TV and connect my (Yoga 9) Lenovo to it using the Microsoft Edge tool "Cast media to device", I cannot directly do so utilizing "Connect to a wireless display (Cast)" from the Settings. The message is "No displays are available".

Cast to TV not repeatable on new laptop

Brand new HP laptop running Windows 11. When I ADD DEVICE to cast to my Samsung TV, the TV shows up as an available device and the laptop mirrors or casts to the TV. In otherwords, IT WORKS! However, after you disconnect and try to reconnect again it fails to connect. Both the TV and laptop report connection errors. The only way to get it to connect again is to remove the TV from the Bluetooth and Device list then add it again and it works, but just initially again and is not repeatable.

I've spent hours troubleshooting fixes online and none work. Yesterday I was on the phone with HP support for over an hour. They remotely operated my laptop and tried many fixes and none worked. Wireless display is installed and all drivers are up to date including the TV software. They finally suggested reinstalling Windows but I'm not wanting to do that and loose all the "stuff" I've spent four days installing from my previous laptop. BTW my old laptop on Win 10 worked everytime as does my phone and iPad so I'm guessing it's a window 11 issue.

The Wireless Display app is installed and says that it's ready for me to connect but then goes on to say "Protected content can't be viewed on this device" Next it says Press Ctrl + S to open settings. When I do that a window opens up but does not show any Allowed Devices or Blocked Devices on the Device Access List. There are no options to add anything. Not sure if this is the problem.

So the question is, why does cast work when first added but then will not repeat to connect again unless I remove the TV and add it again?
