  1. Wireless display won’t connect second screen after changing display settings

I have a windows 11 laptop. I have been connecting it to my Amazon fire TV.I’ve been doing this for several weeks and have had no problems. There was a minor issue where the resolution on the TV would change depending on if I kept the laptop screen, active or not. So I tried to go in and change the resolution setting on the second display. Now it won’t connect to the fire TV anymore. It tries to connect and both the laptop and TV show signs of attempting to make the connection but then the connection never completes and the laptop indicates it can’t see the fire TV anymore. I’ve tried restarting

  2. What happened to connect to a wireless display in display settings

    Hi

    Welcome to Microsoft community.

Windows 11 has made some changes to the way you connect to wireless displays compared to Windows 10. The "Connect to a wireless display" feature is now integrated into the new Quick Settings menu, which is accessed from the taskbar. Here's how to use it:

    1. Open Quick Settings:
      • Click on the network icon in the taskbar (usually looks like a Wi-Fi symbol) or press Win + K on your keyboard. This will open the Quick Settings menu.
    2. Click on "Connect to a wireless display."
      • In the Quick Settings menu, you should see an option labeled "Connect to a wireless display." Click on it.
    3. Select a Wireless Display:
      • Windows will start scanning for available wireless displays. When it finds one, click on the name of the display you want to connect to.
    4. Follow On-Screen Instructions:
      • Follow the on-screen instructions to complete the connection. You may need to confirm the connection on both your computer and the wireless display.
This streamlined approach simplifies the process of connecting to wireless displays in Windows 11. The traditional method of going to Display Settings in Windows 10 is no longer used for this purpose in Windows 11.

Please let me know if you need any further assistance. Thank you.

Connect to a wireless display settings

    Hello,

I have a Samsung Blue Ray player that has the option to enable screen mirroring.

The laptop that I am using is an HP Elitebook x360 G2 running Windows 10 Enterprise.

When I set my blue-ray player (Device name: "[BD] Home") to discoverable as a device, it appears as available to connect when I navigate on my laptop to "Connect to a wireless display" within Projection settings. When I connect to [BD] Home, the TV that
my Blue-ray player is connected to does not display my laptop's screen. Here is where I am stuck: I changed the projection settings to " Display on second display only," and now when I connect to [BD] Home, my laptop automatically projects to the second display
only. But the second monitor does not display my screen, and nor does my laptop display it's screen. I was hoping to troubleshoot this, but it seems like the only way to correct this setting would be to wirelessly connect my laptop to a second display that
does in fact work, in order to change the projection setting back to "Duplicate" or "Extend." Please help!

    Thanks,

    Mike

Wireless display won’t connect second screen after changing display settings

Windows Wireless Display Adapter-not connecting anymore

    Hello Phillip,

Did you notice any changes on your PC prior to the issue? I suggest that you follow the steps outlined in this support article:
    Troubleshooting Wireless Display Adapters.

Since updating drivers did not work, in addition, you can try to reset the Wireless Adapter.

    1. On the adapter, press and hold the reset button for 10 seconds.
    2. When the message " Ready to connect "shows, open the
      Action Center.
    3. Select Connect, and in the list of displays, select
      Microsoft
      Wireless Display Adapter.

Please respond to this thread to let me know how the issue progresses. Similarly, if you have more questions, please inform me by replying to this post.
