  1. Wireless internet speed stuck at 5.5mbps

    Hello,

My driver is Dell Wireless 1704 802.11b/g/n. The internet speed goes down to 5.5mbps and it just gets stuck, to fix this issue I have to disable it and enable it go fix it. It is annoying at most of the time, like when I am in a meeting. I would miss most of the important stuff. And when I do it like 5 times it won't even connect to the internet. It would just say "No internet connection" and when I disable it the screen freezes and I have to hard shutdown.

    Thanks.

    :)

Microsoft Wireless Display Adapter kills my Wifi Internet Speed

I have the Microsoft wireless adapter hooked up to my tv and I can connect to it fine via my surfacebook. But once I'm connected, ookla speed test goes from 200mbps to 1-5mbps, making my internet unusable. I've tried it multiple times and right when I
disconnect the wireless adapter even mid-test my internet speed shoots up.

    Win10Pro - build 1909

    First Gen Surfacebook

    Wireless Adapter Firmware version: 1.3.8384

    Wifi

My drivers are up to date. I have uninstalled and reinstalled marvell wireless network driver. Troubleshooter says there is nothing wrong with my connection.

I have an Orange 2gbps router modem. Livebox 5 smart wifi. My ethernet speed is always around 1gbps on my computer via optic fibre but the wifi chip in this surfacebook seems like it can only 200mbps which is annoying. I've read it isn't a very good wifi
chip to begin with nevermind this laptop being 4 years old.

When I use Microsoft wireless display adapter on my computer. It doesn't affect the internet speed at all.

I have sent a recording via feedback app under this email.

  3. Asus N580VD slow internet speed

    Hi Blair,

There are several factors that affect your internet speed. A few would be connection speed, network traffic, hardware capability, and type of connection. To help us identify what might be causing the slow internet speed on your laptop, allow me to ask the
    following information:

    • How's your laptop connected to the network? Is it directly wired to the modem/router or wirelessly connected?
    • Were your other computers that were getting 100 Mbps download speed connected to the same network?
    • Were there other devices connected to the network while you tried to download?
    • Have you tried connecting your laptop to a different network? Did you get the same internet speed?

In the meantime, please run a speed test on your laptop. If the internet speed is slower that your internet package, then you may try to update the drivers of your network adapters to ensure that it's up-to-date. Please check out and follow the steps provided
on this link: Update drivers in Windows 10.

If you're trying to download while your laptop is wirelessly connected to your network, then kindly check its wireless adapter speed by checking its Wireless Network Connection Status. Follow these steps:

    1. Right-click the wireless icon on your system tray, click Open Network & Internet settings, then click
      Wi-Fi.
    2. On the right pane, click Change adapter options.
    3. Right-click your Wireless Network Connection and click
      Status
      .

Please take a screenshot of the status page and kindly include it on your reply.

Looking forward to hear from you.

    Regards.

WiFi internet speed running slow on Windows10 Lenovo U31-70 laptop

    Hi,

I have a Lenovo U31-70 laptop which I bought in August 2015. It had Windows 10 pre-installed at the time of purchase.

Since last 1-2 months I have been observing that the the WiFi internet speed on my laptop has become slower. If I go to speedtest.com and measure the speed, I see Download speed=5Mbps and Upload speed= 0.5Mbps on Lenovo laptop. However, if I measure the
net speed using my 3years old Windows 7 Toshiba laptop, I measure Download speed=55Mbps and Upload speed= 5Mbps.

I am wondering if this is a Windows 10 problem or something has happened to my new Lenovo laptop suddenly. Any suggestions to debug and fix this problem?

I have tried installing this driver but doing so (followed by system restart) doesnt improve the internet speed: http://support.lenovo.com/us/en/downloads/ds103732
