Windows 10: Wireless internet working intermittently

I have been having issues with internet access on my Asus laptop for a few months now, though recently it has got worse. A few weeks ago I got a message on my laptop about having to update Windows 10 as the version I had was no longer supported. It could be a coincidence but the issue has got worse since then, though it was already happening before the update, just not as regularly.


The wireless internet will not work, and when I click on the internet symbol in the bottom right corner, the only option is to put the laptop into flight mode (it isn't in flight mode FYI).


Sometimes turning the laptop on and off again will make the wireless start working again, sometimes it takes me turning it on and off and leaving it off for a while to start working again. It's very frustrating.


It also disappears from the network adapters list, although is listed under 'hidden' devices.


I've tried following different fix methods I've found online but nothing has worked. I don't understand why sometimes it's working and sometimes it's not. It's working fine right now for example, but that's only after doing a lot of turning it on and off an hour ago.


Any ideas on how to resolve this would be great. The laptop is only a year old and used for work so I really need wireless internet working.

• Have you tried updating your drivers?
• Did you receive any error messages?

We suggest that you try the troubleshooting steps below and check if it will solve the issue:

1. Type troubleshooting in the search bar.

2. Select Troubleshooting.

3. Select View all on the top left corner.

4. Click on Internet Connections.

5. Follow the on-screen instructions to run the troubleshooter.

If the issue persists then follow the below method.

Method 2:

We suggest you to update the Network adapters driver from the Device Manager.

Follow the below steps:

1. Right click on Start button and click on
Device Manager.

2. Expand the
Network adapters driver from the list.

3. Right click on the driver and click on
Update driver Software.

Wireless connection available but says "No internet, secured"

What if there's no - Wireless lan listed? Everything else is there and I tried your steps but it didn't work. Still have WiFi no internet, secured message.

Yeah, thats not a solution she is interested in......I've suggested that course of action. Thanks though.

Just to clarify, I feel that there MUST be a step, or series of steps to turn off JUST the wireless notification sound. Thats what Im driving @ here.
