Windows 10: Wireless Mouse stops working until I open Microsoft Mouse and Keyboard Center

This problem started not long ago maybe a few months.


My Bluetooth mouse will randomly stop working, though the touchpad still works. The only way to get it to reconnect is to open the Microsoft Mouse and Keyboard Center. As soon as the blue splash screen loads and it does take quite a while to load the external mouse will work again.


I have tried the mouse in other computers and it works fine. I have tried another mouse on this computer and it presents the same problem. I have tried two different USB ports and the problem occurs in both. Is there something that I can do to stop this from happening? Where is the problem - computer, mouse, software, firmware, OS???

Mouse not visible in Mouse and Keyboard Center

I use Microsoft Natural Ergonomic Keyboard and Microsoft Sculpt Ergonomic Mouse, The first is visible in Mouse and Keyboard Center, but not the mouse. The mouse
does work, however one of the reasons I have chosen this particular mouse is the additional settings in Microsoft Mouse and Keyboard Center, which I cannot use.

I have already uninstalled and reinstalled Microsoft Mouse and Keyboard Center. No improvement.

The mouse is on the list of supported devices and I'm surprised by this issue as I have never heard such a problem before. It is my second Sculpt Ergonomic Mouse.

Recommend a keyboard/mouse?

Right now I'm looking to get the Logitech MX3200, but was looking at Microsoft Ergonomics Keyboard 4000. But Could not really find a wireless mouse that stood out. I can do with a wired keyboard, but any suggestions on a good wireless mouse?

What would you guys recommend? MX3200 or Microsoft 4000 + whatever wireless mouse

 

SIdewinder Mouse NOT recognized in Microsoft Mouse and Keyboard Center

Hello,

Same problem here, the old Microsoft Mouse and Keyboard Center asked me to download the update.

Since the update is installed, the Microsoft Mouse and Keyboard Center tells me that I don't have any device compatible.

Actually i have the Wireless Mouse 5000, that is listed as supported.

I think Microsoft did a great job with the testing of the update, maybe it's working for logitech device...
