Windows 10: Wireless Mouse Wakes Windows 11 up from sleep mode irrespective of being deactivated

I unchecked the "allow this device to wake the computer" for my wireless mouse and keyboard, however, my mouse and keyboard still wakes my windows 11 laptop on from sleep mode. what should I do?

No Wireless Mouse Charge in sleep mode with Windows 10


I have a MadCatz Rat9 wireless mouse and in windows 10 when I go to sleep mode the wireless mouse does not charge. I had windows 7 ul before and the mouse charged fine in sleep mode. In device manager I checked the mouse drivers and in power management allow the computer to turn off this device to save power is greyed out. Allow this device to wake the computer has a checkmark. I can not for the life of me figure out why windows 7 charged ok in sleep mode and windows 10 will not. Any ideas on how to fix this greatly appreciated...

 

Using laptop as desktop - can't wake it from sleep with wireless mouse or keyboard.

I've tried to be as clear and concise as possible.

• Have you or have you not installed Avast Free?

I hadn't uninstalled it, only deactivated it; but just now I did uninstall it, then re-booted the laptop, put it to sleep and tried to wake it using the mouse. No luck.

• You just posted: "Just now, I disconnected the mouse, keyboard and monitor; manually put it to sleep using the Start Menu icons (because the lid action is still set to do nothing); closed the lid; and when I opened the lid it woke up."
• So the Notebook PC (laptop) "wakes up" now as long as the external devices (i.e., mouse; keyboard; monitor) are not connected to the ASUS device, is that correct?

Mouse and keyboard connected or disconnected doesn't have any effect on what happens:

- Opening the lid wakes the laptop.

- If the lid is already open and I put the laptop to sleep, pressing the power button wakes up the laptop.

- Lid open or closed, if I put the laptop to sleep and try to wake it using the mouse or keyboard, nothing happens.

 

Frozen Mouse After Wake From Sleep

Hi All,

Just an update on my frozen mouse upon wake from sleep issue. I carried out each of the steps below and tested after each one:

1. ensured that my motherboard chipset and BIOS are up to date
2. for each USB Root Hub I ensured that 'Allow the computer to turn off this device to save power' was unchecked
3. for each USB device (mouse and wireless Xbox One adapter) I ensured that the computer would not power off these devices
4. for the Balanced Power mode I disabled the USB Adaptive Suspend mode

Even after all of the steps above, my frozen mouse issue would not go away. My last resort was to try the original USB mouse that shipped with the computer. Immediately after connecting this mouse the issue no longer remained, the computer would wake from sleep and the mouse would work fine.

Based on this information, my belief is that I have a faulty mouse. Is there anything else I'm missing to troubleshoot?
