Windows 10: WIRELESS-N REPEATER WON'T CONNECT TO MAIN ROUTER

The wifi repeater when i bought and first setup it, it work perfectly then after a month a change the password of the main router then logout all the devices connected to it. The problem is when i setup the wifi repeater with the new password of the main router and when i i connect to my wifi repeater it says "Can't connect to wifi network" even if i enter the right password same as the main router

My wireless repeater isnt getting an IP from main router.

Today i was playin sc2 and connected to vent. the game got laggy as did vent. So i tried repairing through windows 7, nada. Reset my wireless repeater (a linksys in repeater mode with dd wrt) and the router. it connected for a sec, then disconnected. reset the repeater again, same problem. Tried my laptop, same problem. So i wired into the router, it shows as connected but no internet. So i look at the status page and decide to release/renew the WAN wireless IP. Now it wont receive an IP. My laptop gets an ip from the main router fine, my desktop does not (tried both in my room). I use a repeater cause the signal from the main router has gotten weak and was causing me random disconnects. I still get them with the repeater but not as often.

Suggestions?

 

Wireless Repeater

So just doing a little walk through of my house, I found out I have some weak spots I want to boost, and know that can be done with a wireless repeater. My current router, Netgear WNDR3300 has the ability, but I don't want to spend another $100 for one, so wondering what router or other devices you are using or have used as a wireless repeater. Considering the WNDR3300 does Wireless N, the repeater will need to be able to do that too. Thanks.

 

[WTB]   Wireless N router/repeater, KVM switch/cables

As title says, after a wireless N router/repeater, GB switch and some KVM switches and KVM cables.

The router/repeater is just going to be used as a repeater, nothing else (hence if its a router, it needs to have a repeater function). The inbuilt switch can be crap, as long as the wireless is good. Its going to repeat the signal of a WRT330N so my HTPC gets better reception. I wouldnt mind spending but there isnt any point in getting a device better than the WRT330N as I need to use the WRT330N as the main router anyway (hasnt got a repeater function, and I dont want to buy two new routers)


Im also after a gigabit switch. 5-8ports, nothing over the top.

Final thing is two KVM switches and cables. I can get these relatively cheap but may as well post in this thread and check out some offers *Smile .
