Windows 10: Wireless network adapater disabling itself

My Acer Aspire E3 has worked wonders for years. I've kept it in tip top shape. Virus scans, regular hard drive maintenance, all that fun stuff. Every since the last Windows update my network driver is disabling itself.


When I try and connect to my home network, which has 2/3 or 3/3 bars consistently, the adapter disables itself.


I've turned it off and on router and laptop

Rebooted

Rolledback and updated drivers

Uninstalled drivers and re installed them Configured various power settings

Restarted with & without automatically connect enabled


My phone and Playstation have 0 issues with connection. The network says "Secured" then when I connect it either disables my network card or gives me the oh so useful error message of "Can't connect to this network".


Beforr anyone suggest reinstalling things or rolling back something, or 'turn it off and on'..I went to school for computer programming analytics and networking technical support. I've reached out to others even better at IT than I, still no luck. I'm ready to switch to Linux.

Change Wireless Network Connection Priority Order in Windows 10


Hello Denis,

The command in step 2 of Option Two should show your wireless networks listed in priority order. Top of the list is higher.

Thanks for trying the steps again. It's now clear that the problem is on your router. To reconnect your laptop to the network, we suggest that you set or specify the channel of your wireless network. If you can access your router's user interface, set the
channel to either channel 1, 6, or 11. Once done, remove your WiFi network from your preferred network list, then reconnect.

Ethernet is showing as Kernel Debug Network Adapater

I understand that you see Kernel Debug Network Adapter in Device Manager. This can happen if debugging is turner on. I would suggest you to turn off debugging by following the steps mentioned below:

1. Type command prompt in the search bar on the
   Taskbar.
   
2. Right click on the command prompt icon and select
   Run as administrator.
   
3. Paste the following commands and hit Enter:
   
   bcdedit /debug off
   

If you still see the Network Adapter, you can disable it from Device Manager without problems. Refer the steps mentioned below:

1. Press Windows Logo key + X, to open
   Device Manager.
   
2. Expand Network adapters.
   
3. Now, right click on the Kernel Debug adapter and select
   Disable device.
