    Wireless Networks not displaying


    Hi,


    I am running Windows 10 and I am unable to view WiFi networks.

    This problem began after trying to do some Windows updates a few months ago. I have since been able to complete the updates and there are no further updates to be carried out.


    I am able to use the internet on this machine when cable-connected to my router.


    I have tried various steps and troubleshooting options as suggested on various sites. Below I have pasted outcomes of four of these steps: 1. updating drivers; 2. attempting to troubleshoot the wireless connection; 3. attempting to start up the WLAN AutoConfig service; 4. Running SFCScannow and CHKDSK functions.

    A fifth step resulted in a DISM log file that was over 2000 MSWord pages long (I have not pasted that text in this report).

    Please could you assist me in getting my wireless networks up? (Please note that the wireless network is functioning properly, and this laptop does not pick up ANY wireless networks.)

    Unable to display list of wireless networks.

    Hi Richard,

    Wireless networks could be set as a private network and that could be a possible reason why you are experiencing issues with viewing some wireless networks within your area. For us to provide better assistance, we would need to know if you are trying to
    connect to a public wireless network.

    For initial troubleshooting, we suggest performing network reset. Follow these steps to do so:

    • Go to Settings.
    • Click on Network and Internet.
    • Under Status, look for Network troubleshooter and then click on Network reset.
    • Restart your computer once the process completed.

    If the same issue persists, you can follow the steps provided on this
    link    . It provides information and steps on how to address network connection issues in Windows 10.

    Hello Denis, Wireless Networks not displaying :)

    The command in step 2 of Option Two should show your wireless networks listed in priority order. Top of the list is higher.

    Hi Madhu,

    For us to provide a solution suited to your wireless display concern, we need additional information. Can you answer the questions below?

    • Were there any changes made to your device prior to the issue?
    • Did you update your Windows?
    • Have you tried other troubleshooting steps so far?

    In the meantime, we suggest updating your wireless driver and see if it helps. Follow the steps below:


    • Open Device Manager.

    • Look for Network adapterand click it to expand.

    • Select the driver then right-click on it and select Properties.

    • Under Driver tab, click the Update Driver button to update the driver.

    We'll keep an eye out to your response.
