  1. Wireless only G strength despite N rated card

    Hi,

I'm running 64bit Win 10 and I downloaded the latest Wireless drivers direct from the driver manager and my connection is fine and stable (except I have to manually re-connect every time I restart my computer *Mad)

Besides that my settings show I am only running a G speed, despite the Realtek card being N rated (worked fine in Windows 7 I was running previously, and the router is broadcasting BGN) Is this something I can fix, or is it just how it is because of the preview builds? Thanks.

Wifi network it show only 2 signal bar while my friend laptopshow all signal while we have same laptop and when i gooutside of 5 meter it doesnot show any signal

Signal strength is a function of the card itself and cannot be influenced by Windows. Make sure automatic selection of the network standard is enabled (b/g/n)

  3. Network Adapter Wireless not showing B & N and not supporting 5GHZ

    Hi Aneesh,

Thank you for posting your query on Microsoft Community.

To assist you better, I would like to know whether you are using any modem or router.

I would like to inform you that to connect to the 5 GHz band, the card must be rated as A/B/G/N, or AC. I suggest you to check if the router, modem and card are rated A/B/G/N, or AC. Since the card does not show n, this means that
the card does not support the n band.

Hope the information helps. Let us know if you need further assistance. We will be happy to help.

    Thank you.

Wireless only G strength despite N rated card

Welcome to the forums TheMightyElvi. Try setting your router for wireless N only.

Did you also upgrade your router? What router brand and model do you have?

  6. There are two versions of the RTL8192 (U & E)

You might want to try either version from the Realtek download page Select the Windows 7 versions, not the XP versions.

Uninstall the existing driver and software first (Control panel & Device manager) - remove software if prompted in Device manager.

Then install the U version ... if that doesn't help, uninstall that version and try the E version (which looks like the same version you have installed now - but it's from Realtek, not MS).

The RT page describes the device as 802.11n draft 2.0 compliant. Without looking it up, that might mean the it can 'theoretically' achieve n speeds. There were many early 802.11n devices that were simply terrible even at g speeds.

    Good luck.
