Windows 10: Wireless Printer has no IP address on Wireless Laptop Computer

This all started when our Cox internet modem/router was upgraded (at least that what we think)


Have spent hours on phone with Cox - no resolution.


We have a Brother MFC-J562-DW wireless printer. (wireless from the printer to the router)


I can print with my Desktop which is wired (ethernet) to the router. All functionality


I can not print from any of our wireless devices to the Printer. (these used to work)


I am using my wireless windows 10 laptop to troubleshoot (note issue persists on our chromebook, ipad, and iTablet too - iPhone too.) I will refer to this Laptop as the Laptop. Note Laptop connects fine through router to internet and remote desktop to my desktop.


Let's skip for a moment to the fact that the Printers IP 192.168.0.12 does not even show up on the Laptop. Obviously then I can not ping it, or install the drivers etc.

I have gone through many articles, disabled firewall, etc and no resolution


I assigned temporarily (and then reset back to auto) the IP to 192.168.0.60 just to eliminate the "duplicate IP issue" from one article I read.


I have reset and reconfigured the printer multiple times.


I don't know where to take this now. I really think it is a router/modem issue, but have no way to put my finger on the <fixit> button.

I used the disks to install them on the laptop & the desktop then updated the drivers online through HP. I have a static IP address for both printers. They have always remained the same. Any other suggestions please?
