Windows 10: Wireless transfers fail when laptop is closed or screen turned off

This is both my first laptop and my first 11 machine so I don't know which is causing this. Hoping someone here will have an easy answer.When I'm transferring files from my PC to my laptop wirelessly if I close the laptop the transfer stops and if I turn the screen off the transfer stops. So I have to leave the laptop opened and leave the screen on during the entire transfer of files. Is this normal behavior? I thought I would be able to close the laptop or at least turn the screen off during file transfers to save battery.Is it Windows 11 or something inherent to laptops that requires the

Yeah, thats not a solution she is interested in......I've suggested that course of action. Thanks though.

Just to clarify, I feel that there MUST be a step, or series of steps to turn off JUST the wireless notification sound. Thats what Im driving @ here.

 

Laptop with broken screen How much?

I would like suggestions and look in local stores. I dont wanna buy a laptop from someone online. Sorry. But could be a good idea if you asked him about the performance on older games. Gonna make a list ofall laptops people suggest me.

Remove the screen for space purpose here its small desk and if the screen is opened it will hide my 22 inches lcd

 

How to disable a laptop screen?

Closing it got rid of the laptop's display from being shown in the "Screen Resolution" list, so now it's just the two externals...but it still is saying Unable to Save Display Settings.
