  1. Wireless USB Keyboard is Preventing Windows 10 from Sleeping

I have always had my power settings set to the following: screen off after 15 minutes, never sleep. Just two or three days ago, I noticed my computer no longer turns the monitors off after 15 min like it should. Instead the screen goes off for a brief second, and then turns back on immediately.

After doing some fiddling, I discovered that when my Microsoft Sculpt wireless USB keyboard is unplugged from the system, the screen goes off and stays off like it should. I have owned this keyboard for a few years now and I've never had this problem with it before now. Everything was working fine until 3 days ago. I have not changed any settings to cause this issue. I suspect that a recent Windows update may have messed things up, but I have no way to know for sure. I have even tried going into my device settings for various keyboard devices and unchecking the box that says "allow this device to wake from sleep" and yet the problem persists...

Is there anything I can do to restore Windows to the proper functionality? I hate having to turn my screens off manually, because then Windows messes up the size and position of all the windows I have open I have a dual monitor setup with different resolutions. My other option is unfortunately to unplug my keyboard every time I walk away from the computer... but that is not something I should have to do! Please help!

    :)

  2. Keyboard input lag (Logitech K270 wireless keyboard, Windows 10 20H2)

Hi there. I've got yet another Windows 10 problem. lol

This time it's my keyboard. I'm using a Logitech K270 wireless keyboard, on Windows 10 Pro 20H2. I have been experiencing keyboard input lag off and on for a couple months now, and I've searched for possible solutions, but none so far have worked. I was hoping you guys could suggest some fixes.

Here's what I've tried, based on the suggestions I've found on the web:
    • Updating the keyboard/dongle's drivers (there are no drivers on Logitechs's site, oddly) and firmware. Nope.
    • Swapping USB ports. Nada.
    • Unplugging any extraneous USB devices. Zilch.
    • Checking the batteries. No joy.

As I was typing this it was lagging here and there. It's a bit disconcerting. Anyway... I don't think I missed anything, but if you need more information or diagnostics, lemme know and I'll upload 'em.

USB Keyboard is Preventing Windows 10 from Sleeping

I just replaced my Dell keyboard and mouse combo with a new Microsoft Wireless Desktop 900 (PT3-00001). My PC immediately quite going to sleep. I tried multiple experiments such as changing the sleep time on my monitors to 1 minute.
The monitors go to sleep after 1 minute and instantly wake back up with no intervention. If I switch back to my old keyboard, everything works fine. If I simply unplug the USB transceiver, everything works fine. I do not have a tab in my Device Manager properties
for Power Management. There are no properties to allow or disallow the device from waking the computer. I've tried to run the command powercfg -devicedisablewake "HID
Keyboard Device" from an Admin command prompt but get the error "You do not have permission to enable or disable device wake." There
are several HID keyboard device names in my device manager but none have the Power Management properties tab. I keep my mouse turned off when not in use. Clearly this seems to be an issue with either the keyboard or the USB transceiver. Is there a fix or is
it a compatibility issue with my latest Windows 10 updates?

    Windows 10 USB boot

Hi there, am not a windows 10 expert. I have a pc in the bedroom on windows 10, I messed up the bootloader trying to fix the xp on that system.

System wont boot, trying to repair via win 10 usb installer.

Downloaded the media creation tool to install windows 10 installer on usb stick. Not compatible with a host of usb sticks I have. Tried the usb sticks that others use, but I think they use rufus; as the media creation tool by win 10 does not detect the usb stick.

So quick question, the win10 machine i am trying to repair the bootloader is a win7 upgraded to win10.
If i were to use the usb win10 installer to "repair installation" does the version of the iso downloaded via the media creation tool matter?

    There is three options:
    Windows 10
    Windows 10 Home
    Windows 10 N

Also is there a step by step instead of using rufus as I want to try an alternative method of creating a usb win 10 installer. Preferably with more compatibility.

    System is a asus sabertooth 990 (r2?) with AMD phenom X 6.

Also is there any other software I can load onto the usb that can repair the bootloader easily?
That would be the ideal alternative. Thanks
