Windows 10: Without cause blink and my Start Button and Cortana Disappeared. The Start button looks...

My less that a year old Nexus Windows 10 woke up one morning and the Start and Cortana button missing. In their place is what looks like a weather icon a cloud with 65 degrees on it with the word cloudy. I have been getting the normal automated updates for a few months now but did not notice them missing following the update.. but could be.Wen I said an icon that looks like the start is over about 6" from the left but not full start capabiltiy as tuff is missingsuch as No shutdown capability at all but does allow me to logout but cannot shutdown.This is really hurting me since I cannot even u

Blinking Yellow Start/ Power On Button

When I shut down my pc at the end of the day it goes off completely and all lights disappear. However, when I start my computer the next day and press the power on button, it turns a blinking yellow and doesn't turn on. I have to turn off the power strip and wait 10 seconds before I attempt to restart. Then it starts as it normally would. I have to do this every day. Does anyone know how to fix this annoying problem?

• When you say "Start button", are you referring to the physical power button or the Start menu on your desktop?
• Were there any changes made on your computer prior to the issue (e.g., updates, software installation)?
• Are you getting an error messages? If yes, what is the exact error message?
• Can you tell us what troubleshooting steps have you done so far to resolve this?
• What happens when you press the Start button?

Hi,

I previously tried all of those suggestions listed in your link without any success. I retried them again and this time the start button did not disappear. To further find out if the problem was solved, I put my computer to sleep overnight instead of turning
it off. When I woke it up this morning, the start button was still there, and five hours later, it's still there, so I think the problem is solved. Thanks for your reply.
