Windows 10: WLAN AutoConfig stuck on stopping

Hey so I tried stopping WLAN AutoConfig to fix my laptop not connecting to Wi-Fi and it's stuck on stopping. This has also affected my Linux distros and I ran sfc /scannow and nothing was wrong please help!!!!Edit: Do I have to reset the entire computer or run Services as administrator

I factory reset my computer and Wlan autoconfig is stuck on stopping all the other options are greyed out

My Windows 10 laptop was connected to the WiFi and all of a sudden the laptop was disconnected from the internet and could not find any available network. I have tried running Wireless Network diagnostics troubleshooter for it; it found that "The
Windows Wireless Service is not running on this computer". I tried repairing this problem as the administrator but it didn't fix the problem.

The next thing I did was to check services.msc and found that WLAN Autoconfig was stuck in the "stopping" status. I tried changing the startup type to various options but it didn't work. In the task manager, I can not find
WLAN Autoconfig in the list of processes.

I have restarted the computer various times but it does not work. In addition to that, I also ran a system file check but it did not find any problems.

What should I do to fix my laptop's internet connection? Please help.

 

WLAN autoconfig stuck on 'stopping'

I recently had to reset Windows 10 on my Toshiba Satellite laptop after updates caused it to stop connecting to the internet properly.

Since restoring I am able to connect via ethernet, bluetooth, etc., but not wifi. Troubleshooting confirmed WLAN AutoConfig is not enable. I opened services.msc to restart it and its status is stuck as "stopping".

I have tried restarting the laptop, changing the startup type, etc. but it is still frozen on 'stopping'.

Is there anything I can do short of attempting a full reset again? Thanks
