  1. Wlan not connecting and missing service?

It happened all of a sudden one day. I dont remember doing any big changes or trying anything new with my laptop. My laptop is an omen 16 laptop and it used to work fine for about a year. Then it suddenly stopped connecting to the internet and i have been trying a lot of things ever since. I even contacted different tech supports to try and fix it but nothing worked. We deleted and reinstalled drivers, we tried sfc/scannow flushdns and we also tried clean installing windows 11 pro to my previously windows 10 pro device. Nothing changed it. Every time i try to connect to a wireless network,

  2. Windows WLAN Service: Regular ping spikes on a stable WLAN connection

    Hi,

Thank you for posting in Microsoft Community.

First Verify if the WLAN service is started and set to automatic, if the WLAN service is stopped, I would suggest you to start the service and put it to automatic.

Step 1: Please follow the steps to
    start the WLAN service.

    • Click on Start, type in services.msc
      and press Enter.

    • Select WLAN Autoconfig from the list, Right click properties

    • Change the startup type to Automatic.

    • Click on Start button.

    • Click on Apply, Ok.
Restart the computer and verify if it works.

Also check if all the dependencies are also running. Try the steps to check Dependencies.

    • Right-click on WLAN Autoconfig and select Properties.

    • Click on Dependencies, you will find all the dependency services under box labeled this service depends on the following system components.
Step 2: If still you are facing issues, then
    uninstall and reinstall the drivers

    • Click start.

    • Type devmgmt.msc in Start
      Search.

    • In Network adapter you will find the device, right click on it and select the option
      uninstall.

    • Restart the computer and check reinstalling the drivers.

    UNWANTED auto-connection to WLAN

    Dear farby,

Thank you for your suggestions, and apologies for my delay in replying. Poor health.

I have tried each of the suggested solutions, but still do not have the wanted result.

    • WLAN connection deleted and reconfigured. While the WLAN was absent, the provider internet connection began self-connection just as the WLAN had done.
      • On reconfiguring the WLAN, both it and the provider internet connection began self-connecting.
    • On re-setting the factory settings, as soon as boot completed, internet connection was requested. On dismissal of request, WLAN self-connected as before.

It would seem that something really wants to get out onto the web, or maybe the 'phone is just 'phoning home.

    Please help.

  4. Wlan not connecting and missing service?

WLAN service not running. Error 193 Oxc1

Hi. I have a Dell Inspiron 15 3000 series running Windows 8.1 64-bit. Last week I discovered that I had no Wifi connectivity, but fortunately have a live Ethernet cable so I could get online. When I've run the troubleshooter, it tells me that WLAN AutoConfig
is not running. When I tried to manually start the WLAN AutoConfig, this is the error code I received.

There is a previous response on this topic: Redirecting,
and I followed the steps outlined. Under Dependencies for the WLAN AutoConfig, it lists 4 services, two of which appear to be missing from my list of services: Native WiFi Filter and NDIS Usermode I/O protocol.

I then ran the System File Checker tool, and got the response that Windows Resource Protection found corrupt files but was unable to fix some of them. It did not restore Native WiFi Filter and NDIS Usermode I/O protocol. I also uninstalled and reinstalled
the Dell Wireless 1705 802.11b/g/n driver, but those services are still missing.

    Thoughts??

    Thanks,

    Craig
