  1. wlanext exe creation date does not make sense

I was checking my task manager and was looking at Windows Wireless LAN 802.11 Extensibility Framework out of curiosity and noticed that the creation date makes no sense as it would imply that the file created 2 years before I built my current PC.

    :)

    wlanext using resources

wlanext in task manager is using over 50% on the cpu. i just started having this issue a day ago for what seems like no reason. it sounds like wlanext is used for only wifi but i have never used wifi or plan to on this computer. i always have task manager
open but i have never seen wlanext befor why would it be using half my cpu?

    Photo / Video date edit

    Dear colinhart3,

I'm glad to see you in Microsoft Community.

According to your description, I have repeatedly tested on Windows 10, and tried to change the creation date by right-clicking on the properties and viewing the details. Unfortunately, there is currently no way in Windows 10 to change the photo creation date.

However, this idea of yours seems like a good suggestion, maybe you can send feedback on this issue, here are the steps:

    • Win + F -> describe your idea and send feedback

If there is anything not clear, please do not hesitate to let me know.

    Best regards,

    wlanext using resources

thank you Irisdiel for responding i tried the safety scanner but it didn't show any problems, i however moved the wlanext from its folder and placed it into another one (so it just wouldn't be called) that seemed
to fix it. now i'm running at 1% cpu usage idling.
