Windows 10: WLANsvc is unresponsive

The last time I booted my PC Windows 10 Home, 64 bit, it came up saying there were no network connections available. The status of WLANsvc says “stopping”, and I can’t fully stop it or restart it. Neither rebooting or just plain waiting has had any effect; it still just says “stopping”. Nothing I’ve tried works. Can anyone please help?

Keyboard unresponsive after update to Windows 10 version 1073

Programs become unresponsive in Windows 10

Hi,

Thanks for the suggestions. I tried both with different results.

Step 1: Safe Mode:

This seemed to work and I could save a file in Word without the program becoming "Unresponsive".

Step 2: Clean Boot:

This did not work and Word would become unresponsive when trying to save a file.

I did notice another odd thing. It seems that sometimes (not often) Word would work the first time I used it If I close it and reopened it the unresponsive behavior returned. I tried opening Word several time but it remained unresponsive.

This is very frustrating as I use Word daily.

 

Problems with WLANSVC

I have the same problem - Windows 10. Problem is not with the network adapter - it is with the service, WLANSVC, shutting down. After restarting the service things work fine for 5-20 minutes, then the service just stops. Everything was fine before the
1511 update. I have tried a different wireless adapter (USB), with exactly the same issue. Very frustrating. There it goes again - I have to restart the WLANSVC just to post this!
