Windows 10: WMI Provider Host constant CPU usage, high power usage

For over a month, WMI Provider Host's CPU usage value has been 25% and the power usage has been "very high" constantly.


It is virtually constant, not "every 15-20 minutes."


Occasionally, it goes up to 40%.


When my computer is unplugged, it drops to 10% and "moderate."


When I kill the process, it pops back up to 25% within seconds.


I'm pretty sure that this is what's making my fans run at full speed nonstop.


My computer is a Dell G3.


Why is this happening and how can I make it stop? The fan noise is annoying, my battery life is suffering, and it's impacting my ability to do computationally-intensive work. Digital art, video editing, games, etc
