Windows 10: WMP network sharing service

Discus and support WMP network sharing service in Windows 10 Network and Sharing to solve the problem; I'm not sure many people really use or care for this feature but I still use WMP and its sharing service.     I'm not sure many people really use or care for this feature but I still use WMP and its sharing service. I notice on Windows 10 its role as a DLNA server habitually drops and the WMP network sharing service needs restarting or a restart of Windows brings it back. It's pretty random and doesn't happen much but it does happen enough to be annoying. Anyone else notice this?

    Thank you for the response and keeping the status updates.

    I suggest you to stop the WMP Network Sharing Service before rebuilding the library.

    In Start, type services.msc in the Search field, and press Enter. In Services, find the Windows Media Player Network Sharing Service . If its status is Started , double-click the service and click
    Stop .

    How to add NAS shared folders to Win10 Library

    Thanks for your persistent attempts to solve this. Today I figured it out.

    Apparently, The Windows File Explorer Library is directly linked to Window's Media Player. It is possible to map NAS and other network shares if you use WMP to add the locations. Once you add photo, music, or other network folders to the WMP Library, then
    they appear in the File Explorer Library.

    We've heard that WMP is being phased out of the Windows hierarchy. Perhaps this explains the disconnect.

    That is because WMP is going away within the next year. Microsoft is moving away from Media platforms, since third party software does a way better job. They are trying to move back to their roots that a computer is a household appliance, not a toy to play games on.
