Windows 10: WMP not functioning... v12.0.14393.447

can't get it to work... tried hot & cold rebooting... removing it and adding back in features in control panel... for a while, couldn't get VLC or iTunes to work for a while but they do now... tried .mp3s, .flac, videos (which i can get video but no audio). YouTube and Sonar DAW files work, did restore from last week (I was using WMP yesterday), ran sfc /scannow. System shows no output from WMP thru the MOTU Ultralite sound interface matrix.

Well, dang, as I speak, after frigging around for two hours, I tried it before I submitted the thread and it works... go figure.

windows media player vs groove music

Great comment. I agree that functionality for Groove needs to be implemented. I haven 't even been able to use it to Sync to my Windows Phone. I have to rely on WMP to do that.

Groove interface certainly is more "modern" looking than WMP, and it would be nice if the versatility and utility of WMP was instituted into Groove to make it the music app it should be.

Instead it has limited functionality, but that may be by design, as Microsoft seems to want it to be primarily an app for them to sell music subscription, and not provide true usability and functionality of WMP.

It seems silly to not make it a better app by making all the features of WMP part of Groove.

 

syncing music from media player to a sd miuni card

The WMP had alway the sync-function with which you could sync a playlist to portable devices or just a sd-card. Mine isn't working neither at the moment. So how can you say WMP is only for playing media files?! Do you know your own products?

 

OK... i guess this isn't over... working on the computer this morning and everything seems fine, then after playing about 3 songs, the next song failed to play. When I click on the song, the play indicator in the lower left corner flashes along with the song playlist screen. I tried playing VLC and iTunes, but nothing. Gonna reboot next to see what happens, but this is getting old.

 

after the reboot, the sound returned... today the sound worked well but I had no sound from Facebook???? YouTube works fine. after closing and opening it twice and waiting 10 mins, it started working.
