Wndows 10 affected my bass on my computer, no way to set it back.

I downloaded Windows 10 yesterday on my hp laptop, HP envy notebook. Sure wish I didn't - my sound does not work right....no bass. I've been to EVERY setting and no way to set it back. I've check for driver updates, and I'm told I'm up to date. Anyone else have this problem. And if so, where do you reset your bass? Thank you.

    :)

  2. The bass is way too high after Windows 10 Update / No option to Roll Back RealTek Driver

Following an update to Windows 10 to version 10.0.16299 Build 16299, I noticed the bass was so high that instructors in my on-line courses were unintelligible. In fact, bass in general is too high.

I tried lowering it through enhancements. This has no effect. I logged in as Admin and tried to roll back the driver but the "Roll Back" button is disabled.

Is there a way to lower the bass in Windows 10? Failing that, it there a third-party equalizer with a proven track record against Windows 10?

Moved from Windows / Windows 10 / Windows settings

  3. Windows 10 Audio Distortion

I just upgraded to Windows 10 yesterday and had not gotten to listening to any audio until today. When I did so, I was horrified by the rumbling noise that the bass made. The treble and all above tha bass were fine, but the bass was not smooth or clear
at all. So, I first tried to change the EQ settings on my computer and in iTunes... Nothing changed. I changed my bass to be bare minimum and you could still hear it which ruined the whole song. I then tried to back roll the most current driver update, which
was the realtek high definition audio ALC3661 Driver to a previous one, which is version
6.0.1.7525. I have been going back in between both drivers and tweaking certain EQ settings and what not to bring down that bass rumbling (there practically is
no bass with it, it's totally distorted). I have tried it with headphones and it sound perfectly fine. I have also tried it with external speakers and a subwoofer and it was very distorted. So my question is, is there a way to fix it? Could it be something
with the BIOS and or Audio Drivers. I am also writing to you to tell Dell that I believe that they have a malfunctioning driver in hopes that it can be quickly repaired.

You could try to manually run Windows Update until there are no more updates available.
Perhaps, there's an update there for HP Beats Audio Driver.

Check in Device Manager for Driver issues. Try updating the Audio Driver.

I checked drivers and it says I'm up to date. Nothing available. It also took away the functionality of my mute button on keyboard, no longer lights up, it mutes and unmutes, but the light no longer works. I hate windows 10 already

  7. I have an HP Envy Laptop, and the driver can be downloaded from the HP site. Search for IDT High-Definition (HD) Audio Driver on the particular vendor site for your computer. They should have a driver for Windows 10. I had the same issue until I downloaded the driver. By the way, the driver for Windows 8.1 will work with 10 if the version for 10 isn't available.

Believe it or not, but Windows 10 may not include every custom driver for every laptop out there.

Does HP support the Win 10 upgrade on your laptop? (I'd check, but "HP Envy notebook" doesn't really define the model.) If not, you may lose some of the custom features, like the functions of some of the buttons. If you can't live without them, you'll need to revert to the older operating system. (MS will support Windows 7 until January 14, 2020.)
