    WoL only works when Microsoft Administrator shuts down


    I observe an abnormal behaviour on one of my Windows 10 machines. The machine has one Admin Account, that is also an Microsoft Account and also an local Account.I successfully enabled WoL so I can work on the machine remotely. When I shut down from the Admin Microsoft Account, I can remotely restart the machine, but when I shut down from the local Account I can't. The settings are obviously the same on both Accounts. I also checked, if WoL works, if the local Account is also an Administrator it still doesn't work. I contacted the Mainboard manufacture AsRock but they say, this isn't an Har

    Enable Wireless WOL

    Hi,

    For us to narrow down the issue with your Wireless WOL, we would like to know the following:

    • Are you logged in to your laptop as an Administrator?
    • Which Windows version are you using?
    • Were you able to find a Wake-on-LAN option on your BIOS settings?

    Laptop updated to 1809. Can't get WOL to send out...

    Not sure the topic is exactly accurate. Here's the story:

    • Have been successful sending WOL to 2 other PCs in the house
    • Had problems with laptop and sent to HP. They upgraded it to 1809
    • Now when I send WOL packets the other PCs will not wake up

    Given that it was working fine on those PCs before, and the noted changes are to the PC sending the packet, I'm assuming that my sending PC needs something configured.

    My searches on WOL only find stuff about setting it up on the remote PC so it will wake up.

    Any suggestions about why my sending PC is not sending?

    WoL only works when Microsoft Administrator shuts down

    Windows 10 turns off network adapter (WOL not working)

    When I shut down PC, Windows turns off network adapter and it can't be woken with WOL

    Intel(R) 82567LM-3 Gigabit Network Connection

    I configured settings in BIOS

    Disabled "Allow the computer to turn off this device to save power"

    Disabled "Turn on fast startup (recommended)"

    Installed latest driver

    When I use Ubuntu and shut down PC, WOL works

    When I use Windows 10 and shut down PC, WOL doesn't works

    I spent hours trying things people posted on forums, but nothing works for me

    What can I do to make it work?
