Windows 10: Wondering if anyone else is having issues with media player 12. Use to work fine now takes...

Hi Everyone,So media player used to work fine but at some point I'm assuming after a windows update it has stopped working like it used to. If I select a video file to play you hear the audio but there isn't any video for approximately 14 to 17 seconds. It doesn't matter the what the length of the video file is either.All video drivers are up to date and I've tried uninstalling the app and reinstalling it. If looked at windows help sites and have tried every fix that the sites have suggested.Just wondering if anyone else is experiencing this?Thanks so much.Paul

I suggest you to sync iTunes with Windows Media Player and check if it helps.

Follow the steps below to sync iTunes with Windows Media Player

• Double-click on the Windows Media Player icon.
• Right-click inside the toolbar at the top of Windows Media Player. Click "File" and "Manage Libraries."
• Right-click inside the toolbar at the top of Windows Media Player. Click "File" and "Manage Libraries."
• Click "Add." Add the library where your iTunes music is stored to Windows Media Player. This is the directory that was selected when iTunes was initially installed. Click "OK." iTunes and Windows Media Player will be synced.

Windows Media Player 12 Not Casting

Thank you for posting the query on Microsoft Community.

Please answer the following questions and check if it works,

1.What happens when you try to cast a playlist?

2.Was it working fine before installing latest update 1511(Nov 2015 update)?

Windows 10 has a built-in troubleshooter to check and fix issues with Media player. I would suggest you to run this troubleshooter.

Refer these steps:

• Press Windows key +X, select Control panel
• Change the view by option on the top right to Large icons
• Click on troubleshooting and click on the
  view all option on the left panel
• Run the Windows Media player settings.

Can't play mjpeg files Windows Windows Media Player 12

Please uninstall Windows Media Player 12:

• Press Windows key and X.
• Select Programs and Features.
• On the left side pane, select Turn Windows features on or off.
• Browse to the Media Features and uncheck Windows Media Player.
• Reboot the computer.

To reinstall Windows Media Player, repeat steps 1 to 3, then put a check on
Windows Media Player and reboot.
