    Won't restart during update goes black spinning dots


    Surface 3 updating and went blue screen 26 per cent finished and restart. Black screen, Surface logo, black screen, rotating dots. Thought it may be downloading update. Nothing for hours, just rotating dots. Tried restart, same thing. Other PC's and laptop on network updated OK, within minutes. I can get bios screen and that is about it. Any suggestions?

    Anniversary Edition no spinning dots at restart/shutdown


    I am having a Win 10 1607 restart issue.
    In my case the system tries to restart but only the screen goes black and then the screen powers off.
    The PC keeps running but will not restart.
    I have to push the reset button to restart the PC.
    Shut down works fine.
    In both cases there are no spinning dots...

    Can any one help with the restart issue.
    I have tried most suggestions on the interweb:////

    1. Which build version of Windows 10 is installed on the PC’s?
    2. Are the PC’s connected to domain network?


    I suggest you to refer the article Troubleshoot
    black screen or blank screen errors    , refer the section
    I see a black or colored screen with spinning dots after restarting my device.



    However, if the PC’s are connected to domain network, I suggest you to post your query on
    TechNet forumswhere
    we have experts on domain environment.

    Windows 10 black screen spinning dots

    I left my computer on overnight and apparently it did an update. I don't think it was the anniversary update, but I don't know for sure.

    It's sitting with a black screen with the spinning dots. It doesn't respond to shift-ctl-del

    I've tried rebooting (after holding the button down for 10 seconds) several times

    and have tried to get into recovery mode by holding either F8, or Shift F8, or F4.

    Each time I get the windows logo briefly (with spinning dots) and then it goes back to the empty black screen with spinning dots.

    I don't have a recovery usb or media to boot from.

    Any ideas?
