Windows 10: Won't Update and right click closes File Explorer.

I am setting up a new computer. It is a Dell Inspirion 5500. It is an Intel I5 with 12 Gigs of memory. I have set it up with the windows file on the computer and also with downloaded the ISO online. I get the same results. I have run the troubleshooter, I have tried everything I can find online with no success. When I first install it it seems to work fine then, it starts crashing. I also am having a problem with an update and wondered if this is the problem. it is the Update KB5033375. It downloads it and then installs it, when it reboots the computer and gets to 98% it then says, "Something

:)

 

Applications won`t maximize

Following a W10 update, applications only open as minimised on the taskbar and won`t maximize. I have tried closing them minimised but no good. Can anyone help ? thanks

 

File explorer

Hi Mick,

I am sorry to know that the File Explorer is not working on the Taskbar.

I suggest you to right-click on it to unpin it from the task bar.

Then search for File Explorer in Search. Then right-click on it to Pin it to Taskbar.

If the issue persists, try the steps below.

• 
  Type CMD in Search. Right click on it to run as an administrator.
  
• 
  Type the following 4 commands at the Command prompt:
  

dism /online /cleanup-image /restorehealth

sfc /scannow

powershell

Get-AppXPackage -AllUsers |Where-Object {$_.InstallLocation -like "*SystemApps*"} | Foreach {Add-AppxPackage -DisableDevelopmentMode -Register "$($_.InstallLocation)\AppXManifest.xml"}

  Close the CMD window.
  
• 
  Check to see if the issue is resolved. If not, restart the PC.

File Explorer, Right click not responsive

Regarding your concern with File Explorer, we suggest that you follow these steps to resolve your query.

• Open File Explorer and click the View tab.
• Click Options, and select Change folders and search options. The
  Folder Options window should pop up.
• Click View tab and check mark “Always show icons, never thumbnails.”
  
  
• Click Apply and click Yes, when it asks, “Do you want all folders of this type to match this folder’s view settings?”
• Click OK to close the Folder Options window and you may now use your File Explorer.
