Windows 10: Word 365 - crazy jump/scroll thing happening while I type

Ahoy all.

This is a problem that was happening some before, but has gotten worse as of late. I've attached a short video of exactly what this problem looks like.

As you can see, when I begin typing (or hitting backspace) in that cell in the table, Word randomly "flips" up and down, as if scrolling up/down from where I was in the doc only to instantly return. It's very jarring and makes it hard to work. The topmost table in the video is large (200 rows) which seems to make the problem occur more frequently; while it can happen sometimes with a document that has only a smaller table, or no table at all, it's definitely happening more with this one.

This seems to only happen with Web Layout view; I cannot get the "flips" to occur when I am in Print Layout view. In addition, if I zoom way out, it happens less frequently (even in Web Layout), but it DOES still happen. Does anyone have any idea what could be causing this or how I can fix it? It's very difficult to work like this - working in Print view instead is not a great workaround, as Print Layout View brings its own difficulties when working with tables - the page breaks which apparently MUST be displayed when in Print Layout View can "interrupt" a multi-line row and make it appear as if a single cell were actually two cells, due to the cell contents spilling over across the page break. That's one of the main reasons I mainly work on tables in Web Layout View in the first place: no page breaks.

Jump/Scroll to Top or Bottom?

If it's in an app then that's up to the developer to implement Jumps Lists. Jump Lists show up where need after a certain amount of content or apps are available within the OS.

Just to verify, did you mean the touchpad or the touch screen functionality? Please advise so we can know which one to troubleshoot specifically.

In the mean time, I suggest performing the Windows 10 Hardware and Devices troubleshooter for a possible fix. Here are the steps:

1. Type Troubleshoot on the Cortana search box and hit the Enter key.
2. Scroll down and click Hardware and Devices.
3. Click Run the troubleshooter.
4. Restart your PC.

Horizontal Scroll Jump

Agreed, have seen in the List Mode that the focus moves the view left to right or back depending on where the click occurred. The other Modes are straight-away lists of Folder then files with the vertical scroll bar, no horizontal scroll bar.
