    What am I doing wrong? I save documents under Word Pad which I thought was free but when I open them, they are Word documents and I can't open unless I buy.

    Short cut in changing Word Pad default to Word in Windows 10

    Unaware of what the cause was, I get a Word Pad default every time I try to open my Word file.

    Here is a few simple steps I did:

    Right Click on Word Pad

    Setting

    Properties

    General

    Click om Word Pad and change to Word (Icon appears)

    Word pad keeps hijacking my documents.

    I prefer to use LibreOffice.

    How can I deselect Word Pad and make Libre Office my default document program?

    A problem with MS Word and W10 Word Pad on my laptop.

    Thanks for your reply butI don’t quite follow this as it seems to be concerned with printing layout unless I have misunderstood it, plus it is also happening to W10 word pad .
