Windows 10: word - pop regarding error preventing it from working correctly...

while working in word a pop up stating "word has run into an error that is preventing it from working correctly. Word will need to close as a result "comes up frequently. Options given are; repair/help/close. I have tried all... This continues and I am experiencing this issue daily. each time it pops up I am loosing anything not saved prior to the pop up. Now saving after each sentence...

Help!!!

Hi dalchina. Good news, I followed your suggestion and reinstalled the update and now it appears as "installed correctly" *Biggrin Maybe it was not necessary to run the Windows Update Troubleshooter or maybe if necessary. But using it I do not think it could have worsened something. The installation was very fast, unlike the first time it showed step 1 and step 2 completed.

Error: No work available to process

Hmm. Either it's put out errors and WCG is limiting the work units available, or the project list may not be set to supply other WU when one runs out. (if the problem lies here and not on your end)

On the options to your left, if you go into Results Status, select the computer from Device Name and then look through results see if either they were returned late, errors or any other kind of issue that would stop the servers supplying WU from that perspective.

If there are no errors then it's maybe down to your project list. So selecting Device Manager from the left menu and then clicking on the profile assigned to that computer and make sure that it's assigned to receive WU for other projects if they run out.

At least those steps will rule out problems from the WCG end.

 

word isn't opening correctly

There is a possibility that this is due to recent changes in the document or in the Word application itself. To properly isolate this issue, kindly verify the following:

• Any recent changes made on the computer prior to the issue?
• Which version of Word application are you using?
• What troubleshooting steps have you done to isolate the issue?
• Have you tried starting the Word application in safe mode?
