Windows 10: Word Sharing as Attachment in Word When Using OneDrive location Does Nothing

Scenario: Windows 10 Enterprise 21H1 with Sensitivity Labels on Intune. Local BitLocker is on and using share button in Word Microsoft® Word for Microsoft 365 MSO 16.0.14326.20384 64-bit with a file from OneDrive location and nothing happens. I have tested on another device that has BitLocker off an it works fine. When Word files that are saved to documents Backup Desktop, Documents, and Pictures in OneDrive setup we get both locations in recent See example 1. When we select the non OneDrive location all is well when sharing via attachment. Popup email from Outlook comes up with docu

OneDrive Shared Folder question

OneDrive is very location sensitive . . .

If you move a shared folder, OneDrive will just see that the folder no longer exists in its original location and not know that it has been moved, you would need to re-share the folder in its new location

It is like, if say, you have a Word document in your Documents folder saved from Word, that is then added to the Recent File list in Word, if you close Word and move that file in File Explorer, then try to open it from the Word recent file list, Word will tell
you the file no longer exists, because it does not know you have moved the file outside of Word . . .

 

CANNOT LOCATE WORD DOCS

Paul- Just so I am sure I understand, I simply open the WORD app; click on OneDrive (rather than THIS PC or a different location) and open the file from that list? Thank you, Jeff

 

I am trying to email a word document to myself.

I would suggest you cancel everything open and start fresh using just these steps:

• Open your Mail app or website
• Click the New button and write a new email message with your address in the To line
• Click the Attachment paperclip button and select your Word file to attach
• Click Send
