Windows 10: WordPad Could Use An Update For Windows 10

Hello All,


The tremendous amount of writing tools from Microsoft Office, Office Online, Google Drive, Softmaker Free Office, and Libre Office shows that both MS Office and its competitors are getting better and better. Since WordPad has not seen an update, to the best of my knowledge since Windows 7 with the Ribbon Interface, I think it could use an upgrade. For one thing, in Windows 10, the WordPad Help system now opens to all Help and Support for Windows 10, not just WordPad. The aging infrastructure could benefit from its own Help System to reflect on the much stronger technologies of Windows 10.


One of those requested added elements should be the implementation of a Spell Checker. This has been requested at the Windows 10 Feedback Hub many times. Even the most free writing tools now have a Spellchecker and this would be a welcome tool for those who may not be using WordPad, because it lacks a spellchecker at this time.


Since Microsoft Paint received a very interesting overhaul with Paint 3D, I think that WordPad should be next on the list for an update with a Spellchecker and a direct Help system from within the program.

Find Wordpad in Windows 10

I typed WordPad in the Search box, also in the Cortana box.

Both resulted in a list of internet sites on the problem of finding WordPad in Windows 10.

This was NOT helpful.

Can someone give the steps on finding WordPad in Windows 10.

Microsoft seems to be very consumer-unfriendly. It cannot make a product that is consumer-friendly.

Windows 10 full of apps, that is very unhelpful. Too ad-oriented. And we have to pay for Windows 10 as part of the purchase price of the laptop.

I went to use WordPad today but am unable to find it in apps. Scrolling down the list it doesn't list notepad or WordPad as an app. I tried to ask Cortana to open it by saying "open WordPad" all I get as a response is her say open what app. looking at the
speechbox it seems to recognise what I am saying I couldn't get her to open any apps try calculator as well . She did suggest sites on how to open WordPad. In the end I went through file explorer and found a shortcut to WordPad but why isn't it listed as an
app ?
