Windows 10: Work Computer Can Not connect to Work Network

Hello all,

One of the Microsoft Surface Laptops I am in charge of maintaining has started running into an issue regarding connecting to the business network, the computer is part of the business domain which has a group rule of having the network remembered, it will appear on the list as a possible connection, then when you attempt to connect it states attempting then fails stating can not connect to network, but it will connect to other wireless networks.


I have tried re-booting the computer, toggling the Wi-Fi adapter, toggling airplane mode, ran the network trouble shooter, Updating the drivers, uninstalling the drivers, removed the computer from the domain and cleared all remembered networks then rejoined the domain, and have released and renewed IP and flushed the DNS. I am at a loss on where to go from here any help would be appreciated.

One computer cannot access other network computers.


So I've tried every troubleshooting step I know:

• Double checked that Net Bios was enabled
• Ran a bunch of network commands:
  • flushed DNS
  • registered dns
  • pinged and located the named computers successfully
• Reset my router to factory settings

Nothing works when I try to access via explorer. I'm still baffled by the fact that every other computer can access each other AND access this computer. It's just the outgoing connection from this machine that doesn't work.

Any thoughts?

 

Relocating the Users folder working again!


OK geeks, this works again. Added this warning at the beginning of the tutorial:



Warning EXTREMELY IMPORTANT, READ BEFORE STARTING!

This procedure works again in Build 10041 after being bugged and non-functional in two last builds. However, the procedure works only if Windows is installed without any whatsoever network connection. As soon as installation is done and you have entered the Audit Mode desktop (Method One Step 2) you can connect the computer to network and Internet again. The installation phase must be done without network connection.

Short checklist, the only way this works:

1. Disable all network connections before starting the installation (disable WiFi, disconnect Ethernet cable)
2. Install and enter Audit Mode as told in Method One Step 1
3. Enable network connections (enable WiFi, reconnect Ethernet cable)
4. Continue from tutorial Method One Step 2

1. Open Admin command and type: ipconfig
   
   
   
2. Win+X->Control Panel->Netwok and Sharing Center
   Follow the screen shot. This should disable internet access from this PC but allows access to local device(s)
   NOTE: Use the IP & Subnet Mask from step 1. Leave Default gateway & DNS Server blank
