  1. Work PC has a mind of it’s own. Help?

I’m running Windows 10 on a ThinkPad laptop with two ThinkVision monitors, using a ThinkPad docking station to connect the 3.

Not every time, but often enough that it’s annoying, if I lock/shut down/or restart my computer, when I come back, the settings for my 2 monitors have changed.

What I’ve noticed changing: 1. The resolution. 2. Refresh rate. 3. If neither of the above happen, my programs that I have displayed on those monitors move over to my laptop screen. This one I can deal with quickly so it isn’t my most pressing concern.

Often when I open my display settings to fix whatever is going on, the resolution bar is greyed out and I can’t change it back to the recommended resolution. I can also sometimes adjust the refresh rate, but sometimes I get an error message that says I don’t have permission.

I’m becoming increasingly frustrated. Is there some setting I need to adjust that says “please do not randomly change my display settings?!” Or should I hire just hire ghost busters to tell the spirit that is clearly haunting my computer to go away?

    Any insight is appreciated. Thanks.

  3. Edge Search Does Not Permit Change of Region

I got these suggestions from the Microsoft Community forum.No. 1 worked for me:

Thank you for posting the query on Microsoft Community. I am glad to assist you on this.
We have reproduce the issue here and we are able to access non-regional search for google using Microsoft Edge.
I would suggest you to try the below steps and check if it helps.
    Step 1:
Clear browsing data option of Microsoft Edge and check if you face the issue. To do so perform the steps below.

    1. Click on the More actions icon next to the feedback icon present on top right corner of the Project Spartan homepage.
    2. Select Settings and click on Choose what to clear.
    3. Check the boxes Browsing history, Cookies and saved website data and Cached data and files and click on Clear.
    Step 2:
I suggest you to create a new user account and check if the issue occurs.

    1. Go to Settings.
    2. Choose Accounts and then select Family and other users.
    3. Select add someone else on this PC.
    4. Enter a user name and hit next.
    5. Click on Finish.
    6. Sign out from the current Account and Log into the new account.
    Step 3:
It could also happen because of network issue. I suggest you to try with different network connection and check if it helps.

  4. Work PC has a mind of it’s own. Help?

    Does anyone mind helping me?

Where did I suggest to Reset the PC? This was not something I suggested. Did you try anything I suggested yet at all?

I have given you many suggestions to folllow including taking the PC back if it's not going to play your games, contacting the manufacturer's Support to have them help you with possible known issues, and steps I actually gave (not Reset) to try to improve performance
    starting with my first post.
