    My laptop won't update no matter what I do. It restarts just fine several times, but after the last restart when it says "Working on updates 30%", the circle is just spinning, but it doesn't progress at all. I left it for the night, and it still didn't budge in the morning. I had to manually shut it off to revert the changes.

    No matter what I do, it won't go past that 30% mark. I googled some solution, deleted update cache files, tried to update from USB made with Windows Media Creation tool, etc., nothing seems to help.

    Tried to install both 2004 and 202H versions, same problem persists with both.

    I don't really need to update Windows asap, but it bothers me that it constantly offers me to update, and I need to check every time that it's not 2004 update before updating, so I just want to deal with it for good.

    I don't want to make a clean install if it means losing my files and data, since I don't have anywhere to back then up right now, and I don't have time to reinstall all the stuff.

    I have around 40 GB of free space remaining, and the drive is SSD, so it shouldn't be the issue, should it?

    If anyone has any idea what could be the reason for this, please help me solve this problem. It's ALWAYS stuck on exactly 30%.

    WEll i took on this project for PP hes a hardware reviewer and wants to get the professional looking pics for the Pc parts

    Materials:
    • Big cardboard box
    • a razor
    • white material 3 yards
    • cone lights
    • stapler
    • medical tape
    • pvc pipe about 6 inches longer than your box
    • white paint any cheap finger paint would work
    the project I'm guessing will cost me $30 if it works out properly
    I will post pictures and step by step as i do it

    The tutorials provided are just a list of troubleshooting steps. Use only the steps which apply to you.

    Since none of the troubleshooting steps here worked, I'd suggest you do a Clean install.
