Milennin... do you have another PC or another way to keep in touch here while working? In case of questions?

    Worried about PC temperatures

I can use my tablet to post on here, so don't worry. But if I need to buy thermal paste, I won't be able to do anything until it arrives (could be days/weeks).

  6. Yes, I recently replaced the thermo paste in my lap top.
First I used the two step cleaning method with these.
New Arctic Silver acn 60ml Arcticlean 1 2 Thermal Paste Remover Purifier | eBay

    Then I used this paste.
    Arctic Silver 5 AS5 3 5g CPU Thermal Compound Paste Grease Tube 3 5 Grams | eBay

I removed the cooler from the CPU. Your mounting will vary, just watch what you do and go slow.

Then use the material remover first to take the old paste off, from both the mating surface's.
Meaning the bottom of the cooler and the top of the CPU.

Next use the Surface purifier with a very clean lint free cloth.
Clean both surface's very well, I did it twice until the cloth had not trace's of old paste on it.

Now, its very important Not to touch either surface with anything except the New paste.
Apply a very thin layer of the paste on the CPU surface, use an old credit card or something similar to spread it.

You do not have to apply the paste to the bottom of the cooler.

Reinstall the cooler and you are done.

The new thermal paste has a 100 hour break in time on it.

Ths is easier to do than it sound's. Like I said take your time and you will be OK.

Thanks for all the help. *Smile I'll get that Arctic Silver cleaner and paste, and see if I can make it work. And if I can't, I'll be back here to ask for more instructions.

I just noticed something in your hwinfo screen. cpu0 is churning @67% 1,2,3 @30%. Something is running that has an affinity set to only use 1 processor, not spread it out on all 4. That can cause some issues. If it heats up high when playing games, check your NVidia GPU settings, it may be overtaxing the one cpu. Again, @COMPUTIAC had similar issues. Maybe he can explain better.

  10. If there is anything you are unsure of before you start or while you are doing it, don't hesitate to stop and ask us first.

  11. The only thing I recall I did was update the the GPU driver's to the newest one's.

You will have to go to the NVidia site and choose the correct one for the card you have.
I'm not experienced enough to suggest the correct one for you.

Maybe someone else can pick out the correct one ?

The overheating and crashing problem's with my lappy were corrected by replacing the
thermo paste and updating the GPU driver.
    It has been fine since.

Just posting here again to say that I re-applied the thermal paste and it seems to have resolved the issue of overheating. It went a little messier than I'd hoped, but at least I know how to do it now, lol.
