Windows 10: Would a new SSD will enhance my laptop's perfomace eventhough my os is in the hdd?

My laptop has 8 gb RAM, TB HDD hard drive where my OS is installed. I need to upgrade my laptop with another 256gb SSDThere is another slot. . The main reason is that i want Solidworks to run on my computer.My question is, would this upgrade give me the desired outcome since my OS still is in the HDD.

Replacing old HDD with the new SSD for my laptop

I have a Lenovo laptop running on Windows 10. I am planning to replace the the hard drive from HDD to SSD to enhance the speed. My question is, How can i transfer the existing OS from the HDD to the new SSD using the back-up file?

 

Clean install of windows 11 on SSD (current OS on HDD)

I am planing to install a SSD in my laptop, which already has HDD. laptop support SSD and HDD together. The currest OS on the HDD and i want to do a fresh install on the SSD, Please can anyone write a step by step guide on what to do, i am not confident on this.

use steps you suggested, there should be no problem.

Just replace HDD with SSD first then run installation. Do not forget to remove Windows files from HDD after the end of a process.
