Windows 10: WoW64/compatibility mode fails to launch a program.

Hello.Recently, I have been experimenting with running older programs on Windows 11. However, one program has been causing me problems.For some background, this program, known by either "net" or "hignet" is an old game hub from 2004, intended to run doujin minigames based off of the series "Higurashi: When They Cry". Based on the date, i assume it was created for use on 32-bit Windows XP. I found the files for it while scavenging on the Internet Archive, before downloading it and archiving it by itself.This has created an interesting problem that I couldnt solve with any other answers on n

If the program you are referring to is written to work with older version of Windows, Windows 10 will still try to run the program in Compatibility Mode. Program compatibility is a mode in Windows that lets you run programs written for earlier versions of
Windows.

I suggest you to reinstall the program in Compatibility mode and check if it helps. follow the below steps.

• 
  Right click the setup file for the program, this can be designated as
  setup.exe or something similar. Click Troubleshoot Compatibility
  to launch the Program Compatibility Troubleshooter wizard which will check for issues.
  
• 
  Select the option “Troubleshoot program”
  and depending on the problems you are experiencing when attempting to install or use the software, check off the problems. Click on Next.
  
• 
  Select a version of Windows the program is known to work in.
  
• 
  Click on Next and then follow the on screen instructions.
  

If the issue still persist, you need to contact the software vendor and check for the latest updates to make the program run on Windows 10.

I suggest you to manually change the Compatibility Mode Settings
and check the behavior.

Please follow the steps below:

• Right click on the app/program.
• select Properties.
• Click the Compatibility tab.
• Uncheck the box Run this program in compatibility mode for and also uncheck all the boxes below.
• Click/tap on the Change settings for all users button.
• Again, uncheck the box Run this program in compatibility mode for
  and also uncheck all the boxes below.
• Click on ok, then Apply and then again ok.

We suggest that you install the latest graphic driver in compatibility mode and see if it resolves the issue.

• Right click on the Setup file of the Driver
  and select Properties.
• Select Compatibility Tab.
• Place a check mark next to Run this program in Compatibility mode and select the operating system accordingly from the drop down list.
• Click OK and run the setup.

Also, try launching the game in Compatibility Mode. Please follow the steps below for more information:

• Right click on the Setup file of the Driver
  and select Properties.
• Select Compatibility Tab.
• Place a check mark next to Run this program in Compatibility mode.
