I recently upgraded an elderly gentlemans outdated PC with Windows 10 from Windows 7

He now has a fully functional PC after several years almost 10 of outdated software unprotected internet use and the usual things associated with a "How's this thing work again?" mentality.

Everything seems to be fine with the machine now except that every time he boots up the system windows gives him a DOS window telling him he is missing this exe. file. the box closes when clicked out and the PC runs fine...

But no one seems to know what this exe. file is or what it does.

The aggrevation factor of having to keep closing the DOD prompt window every time he turns on the PC now has him doubting whether I did a decent job or not.

The exe. file is as follows:

    C:\Users\Windows\AppData\Roaming\Microsoft\Windows\wrcdriwc\veegwets.exe

Does anyone know what in thee holy name of all that is Microsoft what this is what it does if its important and where can I get it?

    Thanks

    :)

How to open a .exe file

    Hi,

An EXE file (also known as executable file) contains an executable program for Windows. EXE is short for "executable," and it is the standard file extension used by Windows programs.

For us to better assist you with this, we'd like to know the following:

    • Were you getting an error when opening a .exe file?
    • Was it compressed (zipped)?

Usually, you can just double left-click the .exe file (if not compressed) to open it. However, if it's compressed, you need to install a 3rd party software to extract it.

We're looking looking forward to your reply.
