    Windows 10 Pro hangs on shutdown

    I don't know what system you are using, but on my Thinkpad Yoga with a custom fitted SanDisk ExtremePro SSD, turning

    OFF Windows write-cache buffer flushing seemed to do the trick.

    Search->Device Manager->Disk Drives->"Your Disk"->Properties->Policies->Tick both boxes.

  3. Windows 10 Hot Swap SATA dock

    Thank you for the reply. Unfortunately it did not solve my problem.

    On the Policies tab, I only have one check box - Enable write caching on the device which is unchecked. Beneath that check box as a daughter item is a greyed out empty check box for Turn off Windows write-cache buffer flushing on the device.

    Am I supposed to be able to "Safely eject hardware" for what is essentially an internal drive since the connections for the HDD dock within the case go directly to the motherboard?

    If not, what is the safe way to remove the HDD so that I don't lose data or get a corrupt drive?

    If you go to Device Manager, expand Disk Drives, right click your SSD, select properties and select the Policies tab, you should be able to turn it off.
