Windows 10: Wrong Location In Microsoft Apps

Hey everyone... I am a 16 year old and I'm quite tech savvy but I encountered the strangest problem today.... I clean installed windows and after that my time and my location were in somewhere in china whereas I'm located in India... I looked up online and found a few other people who had the same problem but they were quite old and none of them had an answer so here I am posting this question again...

FYI I'm using a Asus VivoBook S14 X430FN this is only a month old. I have the latest version of windows.

I have tried resetting both the apps and the pc itself but no luck... here's a screenshot for your reference... the default location is my actual location which I marked for the reference.

I suggest you to follow the below methods and check if it helps.

Kindly follow the below steps and check if it helps.

• Type Location privacy settings in search bar
  and click on Location privacy settings.
• Here you can enable/disable the Location.
• You may try to Enable/Disable the Maps app to use the
  location or not from the apps list.

I suggest you to follow the methods below and check if that helps.

Method 1

Firstly, I suggest you to check the region settings. Refer to the steps below:

• Press Windows key +W.
• Type Region & click on Region & language settings.
• Check if the region selected in correct.

Method 2

Turn off and on the Location settings. Refer to the steps below:

• Press Windows key + W.
• Type Location and click on Location settings.
• Turn Off and then turn the location On and check if issue persists.

Method 3

Ensure that Date and Time set correctly and check the issue status.

• Press Windows key + W and type Date and Time.
• Select Set Date and Time.
• Click on Change Date and Time Button to change date and time.
• Click on Change Time Zone button to change Time Zone
• Save the changes and check the issue status.

Method 4

Synchronize their system clock with Internet Time and check if it helps.

• Click the Date and Time display on the Task bar followed by Change date and time settings.
• Click on Internet time tab.
• In the Internet Time Settings window, mark the check box with label as Synchronize with an internet time server and specify the server name.
• Save the changes by clicking on Ok.

Microsoft Phot App

Hi PaBluOz,

Since the language on your PC is already set to Australian English, then I suggest that you reset your Microsoft Photos app. Note that the app's data will be deleted once you reset it.

To reset the Photos app, follow these steps:

1. Navigate to Settings > Apps > Apps & features.
2. Locate and select Photos from the list of apps.
3. Click Advanced options, then click Reset.
