    Wrong Password for advanced start-up command prompt administrator


    I'm trying to get to the command prompt in the advanced startup so I can reformat my main boot drive to GPT because it is still in MBR I'm trying to get upgraded to Windows 11 and I cannot change my boot sequence to UEFI currently without having problems. I've run into the issue that no matter what it is telling me the administrator password I type is wrong. Afaik it would be the same password as for my Microsoft account, as I have logged in on my PC using that. Despite changing the password and attempting other steps already I'm not having any luck. I'm wondering if it is maybe a different

    command prompt will not open in safe mode with command prompt

    Would I just follow the same steps within safe mode after hooking up to the other system?

    I am repairing a laptop for a friend and I need to access windows in safe mode and the owner has forgotten the password to the main user. I tried logging on with the administrator profile in safe mode but it is not showing up so I was going to use command prompt in safe mode with command prompt but command prompt will not open when I boot that option. Does anyone have any hints for me to figure this out?

    Wrong Password for advanced start-up command prompt administrator

    Command Prompt as Administrator.

    Command Prompt is already in the Start menu, it's in 'All apps' under 'Windows System'. You could pin this to start. A right-click then lets you choose run as administrator in 'More >'.
