Windows 10: wsl app stuck in start menu

so i installed wsl and ubuntu but realized my system firmware doesnt support virtualization so i went and uninstalled ubuntu and turned off virtual machine and wsl in features, but when i right clicked on wsl in the start menu and clicked uninstall, it sent me to the control panel uninstall programs and features page, where i had already gone to features and turned it off. so i went and uninstalled it with iobit uninstaller but its still stuck in the start menu

so...as the title suggests, my stepfather's start menu is stuck on all apps....how do I unfrak this?

Regarding Windows Start Menu

I remove Cortina completely but now I have a corrupted listing within the start menu under all apps, and now Other and just below there is @(Microsoft.Cortina bla bla bla dead listing and icon

Is there a way to zap it remove this dead listing within Windows 10 Start Menu via a windows registry tweak or something

FYI: I ran very deep commands with install_wim_tweak and no luck at this time to know this dead icon listing within the current Windows 10 Menu *Sad

Start Menu Most Used - App Stuck & Won't Remove :/


Hello all,

Using Windows 10 v1511. I have recently uninstalled an app by right-clicking on the start menu and selecting Uninstall.

However, the tile (albeit a blank one) is stuck in the Most Used list in the Start Menu. No matter how many times I right-click on it and select 'Don't show in this list', it still remains and won't budge.

Is there a manual way of removing it from the list?
