Windows 10: wsl --install: Access is denied

I got this errorwsl --install Installing: Windows Subsystem for Linux Access is denied. 0,0%Tried run as administrator - the sameWin10

KB4565503 installed then WSL 2 failed to start: "access denied"

FYI, I installed KB4565503 onto a Windows 10 Pro system (running in a Hyper-V VM). After I installed it WSL 2 failed to start, saying "access denied". I uninstalled KB4565503 (via "uninstall an update") and now WSL 2 starts fine. (KB4566785 was installed
at the same time - it is still installed.)

(I didn't keep good record of what I did today. If you can think of logs or other reports that might still be around on my machine that I could upload (if you're interested) let me know.)

 

WSL Access is denied after updating to Windows 10 - 2004

On my Windows 10 - 1909 the Windows Subsystem for Linux was working. After updating to Windows 10 - 2004 I'm getting "Access is denied".

I'm running as local admin.

Error happens when I using start menu icon, or open cmd as admin.

I've tried removing the WSL feature, rebooting, reinstall. It did not solve the problem.

Any recommendations on how if fix WSL?

LAPTOP is not accessible ..... Access is denied.

I am trying to share a folder on a LAPTOP. I have other a number of other systems that have folders Shared and they work fine, but with this one I get the error "LAPTOP is not accessible ..... Access is denied." when I try to access it from a different Win10 system. So I went thru the entire "How to Share Files and Folders Over a Network in Windows 10" tutorial step by step. File and Print Sharing is enabled, SMB1.0 client & server are running, and Everyone has Full Access to the Share. Still get the error. I have tried it with the Network Public and Private, with the same result. Any suggestions ?
