Windows 10: WSL2 unable to reach network

When I installed WSL2, my distros stopped being able to access the internet when I set them to version 2. After a lot of digging around, I realized that WSL2 uses the Hyper-V adapters for this and in my case the WSL adapter that was created, was set to internal. I had to change it to external and attach it to my network to get it to work. Is this a known issue or something that is just not documented? I noticed a lot of other users seemed to be having similar issues.

I have failed into installing WSL for Windows. I have read here: https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/win.../install-win10 how to do it, and at step 4:

1. Download the latest package:
   
   • WSL2 Linux kernel update package for x64 machines
   [COLOR=var(--text)][COLOR=var(--info-dark)] Note[/COLOR]
   If you're using an ARM64 machine, please download the ARM64 package instead. If you're not sure what kind of machine you have, open Command Prompt or PowerShell and enter: systeminfo | find "System Type".

2. Run the update package downloaded in the previous step. (Double-click to run - you will be prompted for elevated permissions, select ‘yes’ to approve this installation.)
