Windows 10: WslRegisterDefinition failed with error 0xffffffff when launching Ubuntu-12.05 with WSL...

I have installed Windows Subsystem for Windows Version 2. WSL and the virtual platform have both been enabled, while the Windows hypervisor is desabled.Then I asked for the installation of Ubuntu-20.04 with the command "wsl --install -- -d Ubuntu-20.04.The loading of Ubuntu was executed correctly but the execution of the installation failed with the error message "WslRegistrerDefinition failed with error 0xffffffff"Searching on the web, I have seen several WslRegisterDefinition error messages, but none with an x0ffffffff error code.Any help is welcome, thanks in advance.

WSL broken in 25188 - can't start Ubuntu

Hi,

Does setting version 1 as the default help?

• wsl --set-default-version 1
  

Or, try installing it from Microsoft Store.

• Click this Store app link for Ubuntu 22.04 LTS.

WSL 2 Error

I Installed WSL 2 recently and started getting the following error , once I open the windows/Ubuntu terminal

Operation did not complete successfully because the file contains a virus or potentially unwanted software.

Error code: Wsl/Service/CreateInstance/CreateVm/0x800700e1



[process exited with code 4294967295 (0xffffffff)]

Kindly help me to troubleshoot this error.

How do I open WSL Ubuntu?

I have launched the GUI and when I attempt to re-install WSL and Ubuntu, a message replies that they are already installed. I have no idea how to launch them. When I click the Ubuntu icon at the Start menu it takes me to PowerShell with the command line "my username and my computer name :~$"

What would you suggest that I enter after the :~$
