Windows 10: WSUS problems form Windows 10 Ent. build 1607

Hello guys

We started to deploy Windows 10 but we have problems to get the updates form our internal WSUS Server.
It seems that the client found the available updates but it is not possible to downloaded to install.

The error code in during the updates 0x8024401c and in the event viewer gives this error with eventid 25:

The description for Event ID 25 from source Microsoft-Windows-WindowsUpdateClient cannot be found. Either the component that raises this event is not installed on your local computer or the installation is corrupted. You can install or repair the component on the local computer.If the event originated on another computer, the display information had to be saved with the event.The following information was included with the event: 2149844024EV_RenderedValue_1.00the message resource is present but the message is not found in the string/message table


It's a fresh installation, so never got any updates. I made some customizations( wallapaper, add some application) and sysprep the system with unattended file with the copyprofile ans skiprearm enabled.

My worries is that i broke something. I tried to reset the WSUS agent with the script but it didn't worked.

Do you have any advice?? i really don't know what to do....

Upgrade Windows 10 Enterprise to Anniversary edition

Same here. We deployed updates via WSUS and would like to test on our bitlocker enabled Win 10 Ent (version 1511) computers before deploying to all. WSUS can see some 'Security updates for Windows 10 version 1607" updates, which are not applicable until
we upgrade to 1607 . We tried manually updating directly from MS but we received the same message:

!Operating system: Contact your system administrator ...

It would be helpful if MS could provide ETA.

SOLVED: When is this update KB4022716 for 1703 going to be available for download?

If all your machines are Win10 I don't understand why 4022716 won't install.

All I can think of is try installing it on a Win10 machine that's not connected to your WSUS server (or any of the other machines).

I have found out this morning that there is a separate patch for Builds 1607 and 1703. KB4022723 is supposed to address the search/indexing issue for Build 1607 and I have installed it on one computer so far this morning but it didn't seem to fix the problem.


I know the patch (4022716) for 1703 works...at least on the computers I've installed it on so far. Those computers pulled 4022716 down via Windows Update and our WSUS server. The patch for Build 1607 (4022723) doesn't seem to be available via Windows Update
and has to be downloaded from the Microsoft Windows Update Catalog website.

Unless someone else out there has a magic bullet for this problem, I guess I will be upgrading at least two machines this weekend to Build 1703. We don't have that update approved for install via our WSUS server because it can take upwards of 1-2 hours
to install.
