Windows 10: WU Wants To Install 2 MRT's in Win 10 Pro x64 This Week?

Discus and support WU Wants To Install 2 MRT's in Win 10 Pro x64 This Week? in Windows 10 Updates and Activation to solve the problem; I am not on the Insider Program nor have I been. Probably a glitch as I think it only ran once. Not easy to tell from Update History. [img] 98095 Discussion in 'Windows 10 Updates and Activation' started by Ex_Brit, Nov 14, 2017.

  2. Boot issue on Windows 10 GA Build 10586 (TH2)

    Hi,

I have 2 Sony Vaio laptops with W 10 Pro x64 & W 10 Home x64, ( both with clean installation of build 10240 and updated to 10586.11 via WU), they both showing the flashing boot logo after the update to build 10586, so it's not only an Asus issue.

Hopefully M$ will fix that issue asap.

I'm also seeing that issue on my W 10 PRO system with the latest build:

On updated to 1511 machines gpedit.msc reports namespace conflict - Windows 10 Forums

  3. Win 10 boot manager GUI menu, no mouse pointer

I don't understand your answer. Can you explain further please.

If you are suggesting that I have a hardware problem let me point out that I have a 5 year old home built desktop with an ASUS motherboard, a Dell display, a Logitech keyboard and mouse. They all worked happily on Win 7 Pro, Win 8 Pro, Win 8.1 Pro, and then
failed on Win 10 Pro. One failing partition has Win 10 x86 and the other x64. The non failing partition is Win 10 Pro x64. Those were all retail versions of Windows.

My other machine was a laptop which worked happily on OEM Win 8.1 x64, retail Win 8.1 Pro x64, and then failed on retail Win Pro x64.

My belief is that there is a Windows software problem which inhibits the mouse pointer when I do an upgrade install to Win 10.

You're right. There they were hidden under "Other Updates" so both did in fact appear to install.
Only one appears in Windows > System32 though so I think only one scanned judging by the relatively short time updates took to install..
