    WUDFHost.exe using high RAM - Only driver loaded is Surface DTX


    Hi thereOn a Surface Book 2, WUDFHost.exe has risen to the top of the private bytes tree with 1.36GB. It has topped 2GB.The only driver loaded is Surface DTX using Process Hacker in Admin mode and hovering over the name displays the loaded drivers in the ToolTip.This has only started after the last update. Restarting Surface DTX in Services has no effect. However, I did notice, that plugging in USB headphones/microphone caused it to drop, but it crept back up.There was also some odd behaviour with the Surface Hub after this update, with the screen/keyboard/mouse constantly freezing.     "Surface Detach" Icon Removal on Surface Book Taskbar

    Hi,

    As per the description I understand that you are trying to remove the Surface detach icon from the Taskbar on your Surface device, we will help you with this issue.

    I suggest you to follow the below steps to disable it and check if it helps.

    You will have to disable the Surface DTX. Follow:

    • Press and hold (or right-click) the taskbar and select Task Manager.
    • In Task Manager, select the Startup tab.
    • Check if the Surface DTX status is shown as Disabled.
    • Close Task Manager.
    • Go to Start

      Power > Restart to restart your Surface Book.
